LAURA J. WOOD, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN
Dr. Laura Wood serves as Executive Vice President, Patient Care
Operations and System Chief Nursing Officer, and as the first incumbent
of the Sporing Carpenter Chair for Nursing at Boston Children’s Hospital.
In this capacity, she leads nursing and interprofessional clinical practice,
research and education in support of over 6,000 RN’s, APRNs, and team
members. Prior to joining Boston Children’s, Dr. Wood held progressive
pediatric nursing and operations leadership roles within Johns
Hopkins Medicine’s Children’s Center, The Children’s Hospital of
Philadelphia, UPENN Medicine, and Vice President Clinical Solutions at
Siemens Healthcare. She received her BSN magna cum laude from West
Virginia University, MS in maternal-child nursing from the University of
Maryland, Baltimore, and DNP from Johns Hopkins University (’12). Dr.
Wood was the recipient of the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing Fralic
Mentorship Fellowship ‘11, named a Robert Wood Johnson Nurse
Executive Fellow ’12, and holds numerous board appointments.
