Director, JHSON COVID-19 Vaccine Volunteer Program
Assistant Professor, Johns Hopkins School of Nursing
Michelle Patch, PhD, MSN, RN is a board-certified adult health
clinical nurse specialist and an Assistant Professor at the Johns
Hopkins School of Nursing. Dr. Patch maintains a clinical practice
with Johns Hopkins Medicine’s Armstrong Institute for Patient
Safety and Quality and Johns Hopkins Hospital’s Department
of Patient Safety. She has held progressive clinical, operational,
and safety leadership positions in various inpatient, outpatient,
emergency, and austere settings. Dr. Patch also has extensive
practical experience in emergency management and disaster
response, including former service as a U.S. Navy Nurse Corps
officer and Operations Chief for the Johns Hopkins Medicine’s
Unified COVID Command Center, as well as her current role as
Director for JHSON’s COVID-19 Vaccine Volunteer Program. She
is a Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program (CUSP) instructor,
a Team STEPPS Master Trainer, and lectures internationally on
safety-related topics. Her scholarly interests include post-violence
care responses, assault mechanisms, workplace violence in health
care and emergency response operations.
